The blogger Polycap Hinga who had originated with the fake news of the death of ailing Kibra member of parliament Ken Okoth has claimed that his news source has since gone ‘mteja’.

However, Mr Hinga apologized for spreading the fake news saying that he had received the information from his cousin lady.

Okoth has also taken to Twitter to address the subject, urging the likes of Hinga to stop ‘killing him before his time’.

The eloquent lawmaker is known for key development projects in his constituency, especially those that empower the youth to embrace education.

He is currently receiving treatment in Europe for colon cancer, and has received overwhelming support from Kenyans of all walks of life.

“Apologies then, I saw it on Twitter. I called a lady cousin and she said it was true. She has since gone mteja. That said I accept and apologize for my role in propagating fake news,” said Hinga.

Okoth is just the latest of several prominent Kenyans who have been ‘killed’ on Twitter.

Do you think the blogger is sincere with his defence?
