Uganda’s legendary artiste Jose Chameleon has confirmed his bid to join politics.
This news came as a surprise to many, as Chameleone once claimed that he has no plans of joining any political race even after fellow musicians had shown interests toward politics.
During a presser at his DNA Lounge Kololo on Monday, the Mateeka hitmaker told the press that he didn’t take politics serious in the first place, but his fans have motivated and lifted his spirits.
Ugandans are set to have general elections in 2021.
His brother Pius Mayanja alias Pallaso during was the first to break the news in an interview with local media.
“If my fans have chosen, why not? I have been a leader all my life and it won’t be a challenge for me to lead the people of Kampala if they want me to lead them as their Lord Mayor,” he said.
He revealed that he is currently organizing his manifesto, including all things he is planning to do for the Kampala people after he attains the mayorship seat, and he promised to share the notes soon.
