Former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto has tells off deputy president to back off 2022 succession politics.
Speaking during fundraising in aid of Kipsamungut AGC located in Kaposi ward in Ainamoi constituency at the weekend, the former governor said he was appalled by the early campaigns being conducted by Dp. Ruto.
“It is only fair that within five years after the election, everyone settles down to work. Those who occupy government positions should deliver. However, the country is surprised that some politicians are fighting over 2022 General Election which is still far,” he said.
The DP has been traversing every County in weekends accompanied by several Jubilee politicians and engage into early campaigns.
President Uhuru Kenyatta had earlier warned the Jubilee politicians and oppositions of engaging into rhetoric politics geared towards 2022.
“Let us get down to work and shun politics,2022 is too far and now we should concentrate into development,”he said.
He further warned politicians of politicking the fight against corruption across the Country.
A section of Jubilee politicians from rift valley had accused the Uhuru of fighting corruption selectively.
Lead by Oscar Sudi and Nandi governor Stephen Sang had accused Uhuru of targeting Ruto while working in cohort with former prime minister Raila Odinga.
The leaders had requested Uhuru to publicly declare whether he will support DP in 2022 succession matrix.
Speaking to Daily Active Africa,former Kiambu governor William Kabogo has said that engaging into early politics will derail the development priorities.
He said that the deputy president and the other group opposing his candidature should stop premature politics.
