The new Inspector General of Police Hillary Nzioka Mutyambai has strongly indicated that fighting corruption will be one of his top priority as he officially assumes office.
Mutyambai who took the oath of office on Monday, April 8, morning thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for giving him the opportunity to serve Kenyans and promised to join hands in the ongoing war against graft.
In his first ever speech as the IG, Mutyambai stated he will be fully support the ongoing graft purge and that the police will play its enforcement role in a non-partisan manner andin accordance with the law.
“I am fully in support of the ongoing fight against corruption in the country, and I want to be very clear; we must all join hands in the fight against the vice.
We as the National Police Service, we will play our enforcement role in the non-partisan manner guided by high fidelity in the law,” the new police boss said.
