Raila’s Obsession with Ruto Could be his biggest Political Undoing

In 2015, Jacob Juma sensationally claimed that Raila will use all his powers and resources to ensure DP William Ruto does not become President.

The handshake between Raila and his brother Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018 is viewed as part of the fulfilment of the prophecy by the late billionaire business mogul.

Since the handshake, there has been renewed vigor in the fight against corruption but it has not escaped our minds that this is just a way of fighting Ruto.

In Nyanza region, Homabay governor Cyprian Awiti and his Siaya counterpart Cornel Rasanga smell of corruption. But Raila has never spoken about it.

Yet, he is so loud when condemning the dams scandal and other atrocities allegedly committed by Ruto and his friends.

During the campaigns for Ugenya and Embakasi South by-elections, Raila’s friends went on rampage attacking Ruto in every political rally.

In Ugenya, Wananchi were urged not to vote for David Ochieng because he was a William Ruto mole.

Siaya Senator James Orengo sensationally claimed that the country cannot move on with a DP that is mentioned in every corruption scandal. He would introduce a motion to impeach Ruto.

Raila and ODM received a shocker when the same candidates they accused of being sponsored by Ruto beat them in the elections hands down. Ruto had won again.

Raila is so obsessed with ensuring Ruto does not become president, but it seems in his obsession the man has become senile and it is not doing him any good.

Is ODM’s loss in Ugenya & Embakasi South an indication of changing times? Ugenya being in ODM strong hold begs the question, Is the electorate finally ready to defy dictatorships & vote independently? Perhaps. Interesting times ahead. Kitaeleweka sooner than later!— Sen. Raila should understand that is not 2013. The next generation of voters was born as recently as 2004, they don’t know what Raila has done for this country.

ODM’s loss in Ugenya should be an eye-opener. You can’t bully voters because they want to decide for themselves.

And he might actually get a shocker if elections were held today coz Ruto will emerge with more than 60% of votes.
