Murkomen, Raila share podium

Firebrand Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Sunday shared a podium with ODM leader Raila Odinga for the first time in as many months amid ongoing squabbles in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s succession debate.

For months now, Murkomen has intensified attacks on Mr Odinga, accusing him of hiding in his historical handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta to sabotage Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential chances.

“We have been reminded overtime that the handshake is about two-people thing and that the DP should not involve himself in anything that is related to uniting Kenyans,” he said

At Kasarani stadium on Sunday, Murkomen, who was in Gor Mahia jersey, walked in and embraced Mr Odinga, who was seated alongside Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed and FKF President Nick Mwendwa.

After some few light moments, Murkomen walked back to his VIP section where he joined Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

“Very sad that my team @OfficialGMFC lost by 2 goals to nil against RS Berkane of Morocco. Still proud of their achievements so far and praying for a miracle in the second leg,” he wrote.

Recently, Murkomen accused Mr Odinga of instigating probe in Kimwarer and Arror dams where DCI George Kinoti claims that at least Sh21 billion may have been lost with no tangible work on the site.

According to the Senate Majority Leader, Mr Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta are using the handshake to intimidate DP Ruto and his allies.
