IG Hillary Mutyambai’s Key highlights during his swearing-in ceremony

Mr Hillary Nzioki Mutyambai has this morning been sworn in as kenya’s third Inspector General of Police at the Supreme Court of Kenya following his appointment by HE President Uhuru Kenyatta and successful vetting by the Senate and the National Assembly of Kenya.

Speaking at the ceremony, the IG noted that enhancing collaboration, the multi agency approach to fighting corruption,cattle rustling, terrorism, organized crime among other threats remains the best way to tackle these contemporary challenges.

He promised that NPS will deepen it’s relationship with partner security agencies and other actors in the criminal justice system to make sure that as we enforce the law,those who break the law are served justice in a fair manner.

Mr Mutyambai made clear his intention and commitment to continue with the reforms that were initiated by outgoing IG .@JBoinnet under the theme of enhancing police service delivery at the grass root & will be keen to transform each police station to a center of delivery of high quality police services.

He further committed towards building of new police stations and renovation of the old ones to meet modern policing standards and also improve the working conditions of police officers,completing harmonization of the command structure at the Ward level as we strive to improve on our efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
