Ole Set To Recall ‘Forgotten Man’ With TWO Stars Suspended

Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is facing a defensive crisis of sorts with Luke Shaw and Ashley Young suspended for Saturday’s Premier League clash.

That leaves Manchester United without a left-back, though Rojo has occasionally filled the position.

Solskjaer watched the Argentinian as he played for United’s Under 23s on Friday night in a 1-1 draw with West Brom.

Rojo made his first appearance under Solskjaer in the 2-1 win over Watford last weekend, with defender continuing his road back to full fitness.

Shaw misses the clash against West Ham having picked up his 10th yellow card of the season against Wolves. Young saw red in that defeat for two bookable offences.

Rojo’s future at Old Trafford appears to be uncertain, with reports suggesting Solskjaer could axe the defender.

Express Sport understands up to seven players could leave this summer to make room for new arrivals.

Alexis Sanchez, Fred, Matteo Darmian and Eric Bailly could all join Rojo leaving the club.

A lot has been made of United’s summer transfer plans, with former right-back Gary Neville urging boss Solskjaer to sign four or five players.

He said: “United have a big, big job. There are four or five players that Solskjaer will want to keep that are out of contract and he needs to tie down.

“There are four or five players he will need to bring in, and there are probably four or five players that he needs to get out.

“If you think about that in terms of the job over the next two or three months, you’ve got probably 12 live situations; four players to sign new contracts, four players to get into the club, four players to get out for the most money possible.

Wheeler-dealer

“That needs a good ‘wheeler dealer’ behind the scenes, someone who can manage that situation.

“United haven’t been brilliant at that in the last few years.”

“I think that’s the big job. That’s not Solskjaer‘s job, but it will determine the outcome of his success in terms of the future.”
