Arsenal have made a second attempt to hire former player Edu as the club’s new technical director, according to reports.
The Ex-Gunners star is currently working for Brazil’s national team and reportedly rejected the London club’s first offer back in January.
Since then, Arsenal have missed out on Monchi to Sevilla, while Marc Overmars has opted to stay at Ajax after signing a new contract with the Dutch club.
Reports have indicated that Director of Football Raul Sanllehi was keen on hiring former Barca sporting directors Andoni Zubizarreta and Robert Fernandez, but it appears Edu is the leading candidate.
The Brazilian could be tempted to move back to London with the Gunners said to have offered a lucrative financial package in order to secure his services.
During his playing days, Edu made 127 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists. He moved on to Valencia in 2005 before retiring from football in 2010.
