Who has been trying to burn JKIA?

Is someone trying to burn Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, which is Kenya’s pride.

The fire that broke out at the Airport on Wednesday was not a result of any arson attack or sabotage, officials have ‘confirmed.’

However, that was not the first fire incident to be reported, raising fears on what could be causing such fires.

Other controversial fire incidences were reported in 2013 and 2018.

Allaying fears, the Kenya Airports Authority said that there is no need for alarm, through a statement on social media, confirmed that the fire was caused by a baggage belt system malfunction and broke out at check-in counters number 7 and 8.

KAA already cordoned off Terminal 1C (T1C) at the airport on Wednesday, April 4 at around 11:44PM.

All the passengers and staff at the terminal were evacuated safely by the airport’s fire team with no injuries reported throughout the incident.
