Moses Kuria’s businesses shut down; employees have not received salaries since 2018

Ruto’s friend turn foe is said to run in a tight budget after his businesses are reported shut down after he fails to settle rent arrears.

Kuria who has declared an interest to run for the presidency in 2022 has been accused to live a fake life of flying helicopters while his staff stays for months without salaries.

Kuria is the Chairman of Emerging Capital Holdings (ECH) which runs several businesses, including Fanaka TV, and which are based at Bonfide House along Riverside lane in Nairobi.

“Some of us have not received a salary in 2019 while others received the last paycheck in January and February. Nobody seems bothered about how employees pay their salaries,” the source said.

Earlier this year, in a petition to Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), four petitioners asked the integrity body to quickly launch investigations on the conduct of the legislator and the entire CDF committee.

Through their lawyer, Moses Njuguna, Moses Muhia, Isaac Karanja and Elija Gicheru Kimani noted despite having reported the matter in 2017, the EACC was yet to furnish them with the findings.

They also faulted the commission and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations of dragging their feet on the matter instead of acting fast to avert further plunder of public resources.
