Wednesday Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua promised to wrestle down Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 presidential election.

Mr. Mutua made the brave announcement on a one-on- one talk with Jeff Koinange on citizen TV Jeff Koinange Live which is aired on Wednesday late night.

“… if you see me on the ballot in 2022, which I plan to be; It will mean that I will win, I don’t go into things blindly,” he commented.

The machakos governor also said that the plan to impeach william ruto was wrong and ill-advised.

“I don’t agree with the whole idea of impeaching William Ruto; first of all, I don’t think it could succeed because we also don’t want to destabilize the country,” Mutua stated.

Later he made it public that he wanted to beat Ruto for the Presidency in 2022 on fairgrounds.

Mutua also revived talks about his plans to construct a Formula One circuit in the county, which Kenyans have in the past lashed at him for not accomplishing any aspect of it.

“My dream was curtailed but it was not stopped. We are building interesting things and construction is going on as we speak,” he told Jeff Koinange.

Mutua later refuted claims that his alliance with Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu and their Makueni counterpart Kivutha Kibwana was aimed at weakening Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s foothold in Ukambani.

“This (alliance) is for the economic development of our people, whether that goes against somebody else is neither here nor there,” he said.
