A Taita-Taveta County top official was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl.
For the accusation, the county Governor Granton Samboja said police had notified him about the arrest and said the law should take its course.
The suspect was arrested at his workplace and driven to Voi where he was detained for questioning.
The victim is reported to be the county official’s neighbour.
Upon being charged, the county official denied the defilement which was said to have taken place in Voi Town.
