Rogue Kisumu mob kills two in revenge

Two men were killed by a rogue mob in Kisumu County.

The two were attacked as they were suspected to be linked to the death of a health worker in the county.

George Owino Kodada, a 40-year-old teacher at Oindo Primary School, was killed in Kogol village on Tuesday at about 1.30am.

His death followed the killing of Bernard Otieno, a 36-year-old businessman, at Kakelo village.

The attackers broke into the teacher’s house, took out the children and wife, as they made him stay in the house and set it ablaze.

They on the other hand stormed into the businessman and beat him to death. They thereafter burned the man beyond recognition.

According to Rabuor assistant chief Maurice Akumu, the deaths appeared to be retaliatory attacks after the death of a man one week ago.

“We are getting information that the two were accused of murdering the health worker. However, it is wrong for residents to take the law into their hands. They should have reported the matter to the relevant authorities for punitive legal action,” said Mr Akumu.
