An all-Kenyan calendar for 2019 has been released by Safaricom showcasing 36 painting done by Kenyan artists. Danda Jaroljmek, the founder of Circle Art Gallery, while speaking to a local daily, noted that there is potential in Kenya’s art, judging from the stories of paintings being auctioned for millions of shillings around the world.

Kenya has a very large number of artist concentration in Nairobi who are full time practitioners. Before you say or think anything, it’s not your usual local celebrities on it.

For too long, Kenyan art has just been whispered about. It’s time its magnificence is echoed far and wide, to discover talent, and unearth treasures while telling stories of our motherland. 

Through the calendar, Kenyans can celebrate their country through the eyes of these gifted artists, to explore our beauty, love, aspirations, hope, wildlife, and laughter. It also seeks to change our mentality by working with talented Kenyan artists to showcase the best of our country’s pieces to everyone.
