Mourinho reveals what transpired between him and Pogba

Mourinho reveals the truth between himself and Pogba at Man United

Former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, who was sacked by Manchester United in December 2019 after series of poor results and rifts with players, especially Paul Pogba, now the Portuguese gaffer has explained what happened between he and the World Cup winner.

Jose Mourinho fired a not at all subtle shot at Paul Pogba by saying an episode including “His Excellency” and his vehicle prompted the manager’s Manchester Uniteddismissal. The former Red Devils manager discharged a not so subtle shot at the Red Devils midfielder with whom he attempted to continue ahead with at Old Trafford.

Mourinho and Pogba persevered through an especially chilly relationship amid the Portuguese’s residency, particularly in the last couple of months of his Red Devils stint. Mourinho stripped Pogba of his bad habit captaincy toward the beginning of the 2018-19 season, and the former Real Madrid boss was terminated only months after the fact following a poor beginning in the Premier League.

Furthermore, presently, Mourinho has apparently offered a look at an occurrence that helped encourage that chilly relationship, saying it helped prepare for the sacking that turned into his perpetual Manchester United “vacation”. The episode being referred to is apparently one that happened following a  2-0 win over Burnley, a match that came only days before Pogba was deprived of the bad habit captaincy in September.

“We would play a team that was 30 kilometres from Manchester and a player asked me if after the game he could return to Manchester without the team and go on his own,” Mourinho said during a coaching seminar in Portugal. I told him, ‘If we went to London and you wanted to stay there, that would be one thing. But this is close, it doesn’t make sense’.

“The guy was upset. But then we won the game and he asked me again. Because I was happy, I gave in a little and said, ‘At least leave on the bus and ask your chauffeur to catch up with you 10 minutes from the stadium, then go as you wish’. And this guy in the locker-room still wasn’t happy. I went to the press conference and when I arrived at the team bus, parked beside it was a Rolls-Royce with his chauffeur.

“After all, the car was new and ‘His Excellency’ would like to leave the stadium in his Rolls-Royce. Now how do we deal with this? You [tell him] never go in the Rolls? You can go when I’m happy? Or you solve this thing in another way to get me ‘on vacation’.”

Pogba has prospered since Mourinho’s takeoff, finding a substantially more conspicuous job under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club now sit fifth in the Premier League. The Red Devils are level on focuses with fourth-placed Tottenham and only two being third-set Arsenal in the fight for a Champions League berth next season.
