The introduction of the Huduma Number by president Uhuru Kenyatta initially has been rejected by Churches across the Country.
Kenyans were worried that the number has an association with the 666 number prophesied in the bible.
A long running Biblical prophesy was that Jesus Christ would lead His 1,000 year kingdom after toppling a great world government, whose key feature was a cashless economy where everyone had a PIN.
This forewarning, about rule of the Antichrist identified with 666 as ‘mark of the beast’.
The beast, it was said, would come either from Rome (read the Pope) or America, where President Ronald Reagan had left office in 1989 and moved into a California ranch whose address was 666 St Cloud Road.
It was later changed to 668 St Cloud Road, but Kenyans, being the religious type they are, linked the Huduma number with the cult.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has come out to defend the number noting that it has nothing with the said allegation.
Truth be told, Kenyans are not the only ones scared of being given the Mark of the Beast.
The Head of State was particularly disturbed by the narrative being peddled by some members of the clergy who were preaching to their congregations that the exercise was symbolic to that captured in the book of Revelation where it narrates about the mark of the beast – 666 – where no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark.
“I was shocked the other day when I heard that some people who were preaching the word of God were saying that this exercise is demonic. Honestly, how does Satan and identifying yourself relate?” he asked.
He has urged Kenyans to co,me together and register to enhance smooth service delivery.
