How police shot dead Liverpool fan watching game against Tottenham

Police Sunday killed a fan watching the game between Liverpool and Tottenham.

Officers attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) are suspected to have murdered the boy in Lagos, Nigeria.

The incident that occurred at noon (local time) is believed to have been caused by a stray bullet. However, police have swung into action to investigate the circumstances around the death.

The SARS officers have, however, distanced themselves from the killing claiming they were not anywhere near the crime scene.

In a fresh twist, a police officer from the SARS department reportedly said the bullet retrieved from the football fan’s body clearly belonged to n Anti-Cultism operative.

A witness has come out to say the boy was watching the Sunday match when he was shot.

Another witness identified as Emenike revealed:

“The officers had come to the area to arrest a guy who was spotting dreadlocks. The policemen started shooting carelessly in which event one of the bullets hit the football fan. The victim was rushed to Ikeja General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.”
