Sacked Arsenal legend Thierry Henry set to get his old job back

Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker was sacked as Monaco boss in January but he could be set to resume in a job soon although it will be his old job. The former Monaco striker was appointed as a replacement for Leonardo Jardim but was sacked after winning just four out of his 20 matches in charge.

The former French international has since been replaced by the man he replaced. Nevertheless, There could be some respite for Henry after reports emerged he is set to return to his previous job as Belgium’s assistant manager.

The Premier League great looks set to be handed a route back into the game as a part of Belgium’s backroom team. The 41-year-old was number two to Roberto Martinez before he got his managerial break in his home land.

But now it appears that he could return as he weighs up whether his future is in coaching, as a pundit, or in management. Henry was left humiliated after being axed three months after taking the Monaco job.

Leonardo Jardim has since returned and looks to be winning the battle against relegation. Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev said his club got things wrong – and should never have fired the popular coach in the first place.

“Our club is going through a very challenging period. I am ready to admit that I personally bear the responsibility for this,” said Vasilyev earlier this year. “We have to acknowledge that during the summer transfer window, we sold too many key players and, despite considerable investments, mistakes were made with respect to their replacement.

Leonardo should have been given an opportunity to continue his job.
