The Kenya Immigration department has rolled out new ways to get a replacement of Kenyan passports.
The East African community late last year introduced which electronic passport applicable in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.
The passports (e-passport) are applied online in the Immigration department website (www.ecitizen.go.ke).
Payments are made using mobile money, Credit, Debit Cards and online banking from local banks.
It takes at least 10 working days to get your first passport once your form has been physically submitted at the Immigration offices.
For those replacing their passports, here are a few things you should have;
1.Birth certificate copy
This is for identification of country of birth
2. Original ID and copy
This is to ascertain
3. Recommender’s ID copy
This can be anyone but not a relative
4. Original and Copies of the last two pages of the current passport
This is to track the
5. Duly filled downloaded and printed application form.
You can fill online on the e-citizen website
6. 3 invoices
These are invoices of payment made online depending on your type of passport
7. 3 passport sized photos
These should be current photos that will appear in the passport.
Citizens above 60 years are exempted from producing birth certificates of their parents.
