Raila slams Orengo on Ruto’s impeachment claims

Raila’s ODM party has slammed Siaya senator James Orengo after sensationally claiming that there is a plot to impeach deputy president William Ruto.

Reacting to Orengo’s statement Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga dismissed a statement issued saying that Raila and ODM fraternity hasn’t planned any such kind of a motion.

The Senate Minority leader reminded DP Ruto that the Constitution allows the President to appoint a new deputy president after his removal, with the approval of the National Assembly.

“I want to repeat here and now that the Senate together with the National Assembly, we want to bring a motion of impeachment to kick out DP Ruto from office,” Orengo said.

Speaking on Tuesday morning at Citizen TV, the vocal legislator said the ODM’s party National Executive Council (NEC) have never discussed any matter concerning the DP.

“I sit in the ODM NEC council and we have never discussed such kind,Orengo is on his own and he shouldn’t drag the party,”she said.

She further said that the Siaya Senator might be acting on a personal vendetta against DP Ruto, therefore, his advances should be taken as personal and not the position of the party.

She adds “Orengo sentiments shouldn’t e taken as ODM ,we are fully behind the handshake and we don’t want to be seen as witch hunting the DP Ruto,”

Orengo sentiments come barely a week after section of Jubilee MPs accused of Ruto of defending the public money as well as protecting his corrupt allies.

The DP has adversely been mentioned by politicians of being behind several corruption scandals happening in the Country.

Already former starehe member of parliament Maina Kamanda has said that the Jubilee party is already wrecked and mount Kenya region will have to form a new political party for the region.
