President Uhuru reveals the only reason he had to appoint Prof Magoha

President Uhuru Kenyatta has on Tuesday witnessed the auspicious swearing in ceremony of Professor George Albert Omore Magoha as the incoming Cabinet Secretary for Education.

The swearing ceremony held at State House Nairobi was conducted by the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

President Uhuru welcomed the new CS with a powerful message of encouragement meanwhile expressing confidence that Prof. Magoha is equal to task to ensure that the initiated programmes at the Education Ministry are implemented.

The head of state also said he was sure Magoha would continue with the legacy he had left behind at the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) where he managed to deliver credible national examinations.

“We have worked with you in delivering credible exams. I am now counting on you on the 100 percent transition from primary to secondary schools, good management of resources and in implementing the new curriculum,” said Mr Kenyatta.

The professor of medicine was nominated for the Cabinet position on March 1st to replace Amina Mohamed who was transferred to the less-visible Sports ministry.
