Joy for Swedish and Man Utd’s defender Victor Lindelof as he faces Watford as a father after his wife Maja Nilsson gives birth

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof the newest father in Old Trafford stadium after celebrating the birth of his first baby boy. 

The centre-back skipped international duty with Sweden this week in order to be with his wife Maja Nilsson Lindelof.

And the former Benfica player was able to share in the joy of welcoming a son into their lives.

Maja Nilsson posted two images of the couple with their newborn, showing both holding the little one. Victor also posted the picture of himself with his son.

She captioned her post: ‘I do not know what to write for text for a picture of his newborn son. ‘But here you have the best event of life captured in two pictures.’  

Lindelof joins fellow team-mates Paul Pogba and Fred who have also recently become fathers, while Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian are also set to enter parenthood in the near future.

The 24-year-old  defender has rediscovered his best form under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has made Lindelof a first team regular.

United return to Premier League action this weekend when they host Watford on Saturday.
