‘As Lord is my witness’: Professor George Magoha sworn in as Education CS

Prof George Magoha has formally been appointed as education minister under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the forth Kenyan to hold the portfolio since 2013.

In 2013, Uhuru appointed Jacob Kaimenyi, a former deputy to Magoha at the University of Nairobi. He replaced him with Dr Fred Matiang’i, who would later be moved to Interior Ministry.

And in 2018, Ambassador Amina Mohammed took over from Matiang’i but was moved a year later to Youths and Gender department following the sacking of Rashid Echesa in February this year.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta today at State House Nairobi, witnessed the swearing-in of the new Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Albert Omore Magoha and the new Commissioner General of the Kenya Prisons Service Mr. Wycliffe Ogalo,” State House reported.
