Akothee refute claims of being arrested while in Turkana

Celebrated coastal based singer Akothee has refute claims that she was arrested while in Turkana to distribute food to drought victims.

In an Insta- stories, madam boss explained that those were just fabricated lies meant to distract her from helping people of Turkana County affected by the ongoing drought.

She disclosed that the reports caused panic among her crew, with her mother making endless calls to check on her to an extent that she had to block her phone calls in order to accomplish her mission.

Madam boss mentioned that before going to Turkana, she had all the procedures followed, hence being accorded State security.

“Someone tell my mum that I am safe and in the hands of the government, some malicious people made my mum paranoid that I was going to be arrested , just to let you know , there was procedure that had to be done before I left for Turkana, we had to write a letter to the National government & county government , which was approved and I was accorded with state security who took care of me the whole time in Turkana , the state security was kind and very patient with us , I was welcomed by the COUNTY COMMISSIONER MR WAMBUA head of National government @ county Level , & the CS Turkana county , it was so painful , that I received several calls from people asking me to go back to Nairobi and that I was going to be arrested, the situation brought tension & trauma to my crew members , I had to block my mom because she would not understanding or listen to me,” shared Akothee.

She stated that people should refrain from spreading untrue information and join hands in helping fellow Kenyans who are in need.

“I beg my people to drop the malice and join hands to help the government help us ! We are all welcome in TURKANA, BARINGO ,WAJIR Support if you can, If you cant just sit down and don’t block or create fear for those who have the heart ! I won’t mention names but that was very malicious and traumatizing ! THANK YOU TURKANA SEE YOU NEXT WEEK” said Akothee.

Last week Akothee started an initiative to help drought victims in Turkana, raising Sh3.6 million. The money was used to purchase food staffs and water for Turkana residents.

Her kind act has melted the hearts of many Kenyans who are praising her for the good work.
