Governor Lee Kinjui’s gratitude as recovered public property is handed over by EACC to his county

For a long time Kenyans have been hopeless even as the graft war heightens in the nation as no suspects are witnessed paying for their sins.

However a recent funds recovery has revived strength even after The DPP Noordin Haji in an interview revealed that corrupt proceeds were not put into good use by the alleged thieves.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has handed over recovered public properties estimated at Sh 780 million to respective caretakers.

The handing ceremony held at Sarova Woodlands in Nakuru, saw 11 public assets handed over to Nakuru and Bomet Counties.

The properties include two parcels of Nakuru Municipality land valued at Sh 42 million reserved for a survey camp by the Department of Survey in Nakuru County.

During the ceremony, EACC announced that it has been successful in averting property loss estimated at Sh 7.4 billion in the 2018/2019 Financial Year.

According to the EACC Chairman, the recovery was in line with the commission’s strategic plan which emphasizes on the restitution of illegal acquired public assets.

On his part, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui expressed his gratitude over the commissions role, particularly in the recoveries done in his county.
