The media industry is a very powerful tool of communication that many politicians love to own for personal reasons and here in Kenya the list is endless of the big men and their stations.
Now newly joined in the trend of the powerful men is political analyst and the former University of Nairobi don Mutahi Ngunyi who has announced the launch of a new TV station.
The station dubbed “The 5th Estate TV” is named after a show that Mutahi and other persons have been hosting on his YouTube channel.
Mutahi Ngunyi tweeted that the new station was “positive, edifying, and happy” in his announcement that was made on World Happiness Day.
A teaser trailer attached to the tweet insinuated that the channel would offer a “breakdown” of the news, with the trailer ending with an inscription of “We simplify…”.
Mutahi Ngunyi also announced that the station is looking to recruit what he termed as “young and raw” talent. “No experience needed. If clever, I will train you,” he said.
