Following the hunger stricken counties in Kenya, there have been a great debate between the leaders and citizens. The government insist that no deaths have been reported from the said counties yet it can be seen that people are actually dying.
Discussing the same during an interview, CS Wamalwa denied that there are Kenyans who have lost lives because of hunger. He said; “As of tonight, there is no death that has been verified as a direct cause of the drought.” This called for angry reactions from Kenyans. Gospel musician, Kambua was so angry and went ahead to attack the CS.
Taking to twitter she wrote; “A whole CS will get on National TV and deny that people are dying of hunger? Mnatubeba aje lakini?” The CS words were echoes by deputy president, William Ruto who said no one had died from the drought.
Speaking on Wednesday in Mombasa during the opening of the Inter Professional Summit, DP Ruto stated that the information that came from a former chief that a person had died from starvation was not true.
