The documents shared with the National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments shows that Education Cabinet Secretary nominee Prof George Magoha is worth Ksh 250 million.
But one could easily want to know how he accumulated the his wealth. According to the documents, Magoha has various sources of income, which includes rental houses, investments in treasury bills and income from his profession, fixed cash deposits and a Safaricom mast.
Prof Magoha’s career began in 1988 when he was employed as a lecturer in the Department of Surgery, at the University of Nairobi.
In1989 he was promoted to a Senior Lecturer in the same department and in 1995 was again promoted to Associate Professor, a position he served until 2000.
He was vetted by MPs on Thursday after President Uhuru Kenyatta forwarded his name to Parliament on March 6 for approval.
