Aircraft With a ‘Detachable Cabin’ to Save Lives in a Plane Crash.

Aircraft accidents are fatal and deadly. With the recent airplane crash which involved Ethiopian airline Boeing 737 Max 8, the world plane manufacturers has to conceive a way of saving lives in plane crashes.

One of these strategies includes the use of detachable cabin planes. Ukrainian aviation engineer Tatarenko Vladimir Nikolaevich in 2016 unveiled a ‘detachable cabin’ concept to save lives in a plane crash.

Tatarenko worked on this project for the three years. His concept plane has a cabin that can be detached from the cockpit in case of an emergency. The pilot would have to push a button that allows the cabin with all the passengers and even cargo to separate from the rest of the plane.

The detachable cabin of the plane could be ejected at any time during take off, mid-flight or landing and allow the passengers to land safely on water or on the ground due to parachutes attached to the cabin which would automatically open once the lower capsule is separated from the aircraft.

The detached cabin will land safely on the ground or water with the help of attached parachutes, boosters, and rubber tubes. On landing, rubber tubes protrude to make sure that the passengers land smoothly on both land and water.

Tatarenko has unveiled a video in which he has shown how his detachable cabin idea would work during an aviation emergency.
