The Ruto-Raila war of words continue’s to draw mixed reactions among political leaders and Kenyans.

The war has been so bad that many are warning that it risks washing away the fruits of the handshake.

It has continued to dominate political and social gatherings across the county and last weekend was no different as it became the topic of discussion across various circles with the latest to join the talk being Moses Wetangula.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula warned the acrimony between the two could affect national cohesion and asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene before the situation gets out of hand.

Speaking at a burial in Machakha, Sirisia, Wetang’ula said the Ruto-Raila rivalry was jeopardising Uhuru’s efforts to unite the country.

“Why are the two ripping  each other apart despite the Building Bridges Initiative’s efforts to unite the country?”  Wetang’ula asked.

The Ford Kenya leader asked Uhuru to rein in the two, even as he remains firm on the anti-corruption war.

Ruto and Raila have been accusing each other of being dishonest in the ongoing fight against corruption.

According to Raila, Ruto seems to know a lot about the ongoing corruption scandals and especially the Dams Scandal. Raila has asked Ruto to record a statement with the DCI even as he warns him of interference with the operations of these agencies.

Ruto on the other hand has referred to Raila as a liar who is out to break the ruling Jubilee Party by making baseless accusations about Jubilee leaders and officials.
