Over 3,286 children in Mombasa benefit from bursary project


A total of 3,286 students who applied for the bursary funds across the six sub counties in Mombasa have today benefited from Ksh. 45,976,000.

Hundreds of parents & guardians from Mombasa today came out in large numbers to collect school fees cheques for their children during the County Bursary disbursement exercise that officially commenced across the 6 sub counties.

The exercise that was flagged off by the Deputy Governor H.E  William Kingi alongside other county officials saw numerous beneficiaries thronging designated centers having received a text message from Elimu Fund to collect their award cheque

The County through the Dept of Education, ICT & MV2035 had conducted a thorough assessment of the applicants in order to have the needy & deserving form one students secure a bursary to support them pursue their education.

William Kingi & sub county coordinator  Idris Abdirahman toured several venues to check on the ongoing exercise.

The activity which will run for a week , will also include issuance of bursary application forms for Secondary schools (Form 2 to Form 4) and for students with special needs which will be available in the next few days

The parents & guardians of these children who applied for this bursary have also been advised to visit the designated disbursement centers to collect their cheques.The centers are as listed; 1. Changamwe Sub County -Chaani Social hall 2. Jomvu Sub County – Mikindani Social hall

3. Kisauni Sub County- Ward Administration office (Kisauni water) & Mwakirunge chief’s camp 4. Nyali Sub County – Kongowea Ward Administrator office (Kongowea market) 5.Likoni Sub County – Likoni Social hall 5. Mvita Sub County – Tononoka Social hall
