The consultative forum for peace deliberation was organized by the National Steering Committee on Peace-building and Conflict Management (NSC) with the aim of security enhancement as a critical sustainable development enabler.

The CS said he’s aware of some of the pertinent issues that have been affecting Samburu and Marsabit Counties. But by maintaining peace and security, the Government reduces its work load, and focuses on development issues, with less time spent on conflict resolution.

Dr. Matiang’i gave a stern warning to anyone who’ll be caught inciting people to take up arms against each other especially in instances when undertones of political incitement are partly to blame.

“We are aware that some politicians use such opportunities to incite people. Let me be clear, no one will politic at the expense of others. We will no longer lose lives because people want to play politics,” he said.

The Cs requested Kenyans to support the peace initiative and shun tribal politics that may cause conflicts.
