JSC Petition:Tension turns to Maraga to resign over ‘misconduct’

A man has petitioned Judicial Service Commission to investigate and interdict Chief Justice David Maraga to what he terms as a gross misconduct.

Yussuf Dimbil, through Charles Koech and Associates, wants Maraga investigated by JSC and the findings forwarded to the President for consideration of a tribunal to investigate and make a determination on the matter.

Mr Dimbil accused Maraga of attending political rallies, employing people from one ethnic group at the Judiciary and making utterances that are unconstitutional.

“Maraga must e investigated for the misuse of office, he is very tribal as he only employ people from one ethinic block which is prohibited y the constitution.

He further argue that the chief justice is the first in the history of the Countryu to attend a political rally presided by the president.

“A human resource audit of the office of the Chief Justice will indicate 85 per cent of the workforce being drawn from Kisii community where the CJ hails,” he said in the petition, which has been received by JSC .

Over a couple of months,several players and civil group had called for resignation of Maraga accused him of being biased.

Also a city lawyer ahmednassir had also accused Maraga of running Judiciary as a kiosk.
