Meet the new Inspector General of police who replaced Boinett

President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed the new Inspector General of police after the end of Joseph Boinett’s tenure on Tuesday 12th.

In an Executive Order dated March 13, 2019, Hillary Mutyambai has been nominated to take over Boinett as the new IG.

Until his nomination, Mutyambai was the Assistant Director with National Intelligent Service (NIS) and currently attached to the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC).

Mutyambai is yet to be vetted in parliament before he start his job officially.

Joseph Boinnet has been appointed to the ministry of Tourism as the Chief Administrative Secretary.

President Kenyatta also made three State appointments including Wycliffe Ogalo (Commissioner-General, Kenya Prisons Service), Brigadier Vincent Naisho Loonena (Director-Genral, Kenya Coast Guard Service) and Brigadier John Migui Waweru (Director-General, Kenya Wildlife Service).
