Maraga Makes the first bold Move in the Fight Against Corruption

Chief Justice David Maraga has urged advocates to sustain the fight against corruption and impunity by upholding the rule of law in discharging their duties.

Maraga also cautioned them against being lured by fame and fortune associated with the profession and encouraged them to always pursue justice.

He made the remarks today when he admitted 230 lawyers as advocates of the High Court.

Maraga urged them to adhere to the oath that binds them to the profession to ensure justice is always served.

Chief State Counsel Mukuru Kariuki noted corruption was wide spread in the country and urged the lawyers to help the ongoing fight.

Her sentiments were echoed by the Vice Chairperson  of the Law Society Of Kenya Harriet Chigai who asked the advocates to devote time to probono work to assist Kenyans who cannot afford litigation fees.
