Expect traffic snarl up: Motorists warned ahead of UN meeting

A number of roads in Nairobi City might experience traffic disruptions
owing to the presence of several Heads of State and Governments visiting the country to attend the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) as well as the 3rd One Planet Assembly at UN Complex in Gigiri from 13th to 15th March 2019

The National Police Service have today informed that the traffic arrangements made could impact normal traffic flow in the city.

The roads likely to be affected on the days stated include; Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway and Limuru Road.

The police have therefore requested motorists to obey directions given by Traffic Police in order to allow the esteemed visitors safe passage to and from various locations in the city.

The 2019 Assembly will bring delegates together to build the policies, partnerships and a culture of innovation that will support the solutions and systemic change needed for sustainability to thrive.

The three areas of focus this year include (a) tackling the environmental challenges related to poverty and natural resources management, including sustainable food systems, food security and halting biodiversity loss; (b) introducing life-cycle approaches to resource efficiency, energy, chemicals and waste management; (c) ensuring sustainable business development at a time of rapid technological change.
