Drama as principal wets pants

Kitale National Polytechnic has been closed after students went on the rampage demanding the transfer of the institution’s principal Fanuel Onyango.

Onyango is accused of being arrogant with insider sources intimating he is engaged in misappropriation of money through gross inflation of tenders in connivance with suppliers.

In the notice of closure, the principal indicated that the polytechnic has been closed temporarily and communication for the college to reopen again will be made at a later date.

“Following the students’ unrest, it has been decided that the polytechnic be closed temporarily until further notice. Students are hereby asked to vacate the premises by 11.30 in the morning,” read the notice.

Police officers whisked away the principal to safety using a police vehicle before lobbing teargas canisters to disperse the rowdy students. During the evacuation, the principal sweated profusely wetting his pants.

Students had pelted the college library where the principal had taken refuge before being rescued by police.

The students are against the increased examination fees. They are being charged Sh3,000 instead of Sh2,650 recommended by the Kenya National Examination Council as referral fees.
