President Uhuru Kenyatta was seen together with the Rwandese President Paul Kagame driving to and from Gabiro State House where the two held brief bilateral talks on Monday.

A photo posted by veteran journalist Charles Onyango Obbo shows Kagame on the steering wheel as he chats with a jovial Uhuru. Uhuru sits on the co-drivers seat as he enjoys the drive.

“Seen in Gabiro, Rwanda, today. Kenya prez @UKenyatta hanging out with @PaulKagame – who drove him. Any guesses what they were talking about? Surely Uganda-Rwanda kerfuffle must have been an item on the menu,” Mr Obbo tweeted.

Uhuru jetted to Kigali on Monday in what State House termed as a meeting to improve cooperation between Kigali and Nairobi. However, the meeting comes amid simmering row between Rwanda and Uganda thus a possiblity of Uhuru mediating.

After the meeting, Uhuru also paid a courtesy call to his Uganda counterpart Yoweri Museveni on his way to Nairobi. The border between Rwanda and Uganda remains closed with the former accusing the latter of sponsoring rebels in Kigali.
