As political realignments continue to take shape across the Country on who will succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta after his retirement 2022, Ruto’s factor can’t be underscored though his hands are tied on corruption allegations scandals.
Former Prime Minister and ODM leader Raila Odinga continue to enjoy whelming support across the region and he is expected to vie for the presidency comes 2022 though some leaders are opposed to the move.
Political analysts’ states that Raila will be the only serious candidate who can take on Ruto’s presidency.
Recently Odinga castigated Ruto of being corrupt and he can’t be trusted with the Country massive wealth.
“I’m in another league and I’m determined to help my brother Uhuru Kenyatta fight the corruption across the Country in all sectors,” Raila Said.
Political analyst cum politician Kamau Gathogo has said that Ruto’s chance of succeeding president Uhuru are diminishing every day as opposition leaders led y Orengo has vowed to frustrate his bid.
“I know some guys who had declared support for Ruto 2022 bid but they have changed their mind, the pressure outside is too much and chances of survival are slim, “he said.
In Kisii County, Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has vowed to stop “selling” Deputy President William Ruto bid for 2022 claiming that the DP is very corrupt.
The legislator said DP Ruto’s name has been mentioned several times in graft the major reason that made him arrive at the decision.
“I had declared myself to chair DP Ruto’s campaign team in 2022 so that he can get to State House but, I have changed my mind because there is no way I can’t manage to sell someone who is corrupt,” he said.
The MP stated that he has tried to look for DP Ruto to advise him to go slow on diverting public funds to some individuals’ pockets in vain.
“I have been looking for DP Ruto to tell him that he is doing wrong but, I have not been able to meet him. He will find it hard in 2022 to clinch presidency because of the numerous graft allegations he is facing,” added the NASA lawmaker.
Already a group of MPs from Mount Kenya region led by Kiambu governor Ferdinard Waititu, Ndindi Nyoro, and Kimani Ichungwa has been campaigning for the DP despite Uhuru’s call to shun politics and engage on development.
Ruto has already warned politics to concentrate on projects that add value to Kenyans than engaging in petty politics.
