Zinedine Zidane is reportedly heading back to Real Madrid to replace under-fire Santiago Solari.
Solari has been in charge of the Lops Blancos for less than five months and his tenure has been marked by negative outings against Ajax in the Champions League and a defeat to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey and in the La Liga at Santiago Bernabeu.
Zidane guided Madrid to a third straight Champions League trophy and the club lies third in La Liga, 12 points behind leaders Barcelona.
Solari is set to be sacked after a 4-1 win over Real Valladolid on Sunday – which followed a shock Champions League exit to Ajax. Zidane stepped down following the Champions League final victory over Liverpool, and Julen Lopetegui was hired as his successor. Lopetegui was sacked after a defeat to Barca at Camp Nou.
