The newest contender lined up to replace Sarri at Chelsea

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo is a contender to replace Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, according to the Daily.

The Blues could only draw 1-1 with Santo’s side on Sunday afternoon, with Eden Hazard’s stoppage time effort earning them a point at Stamford Bridge.

It was a setback in Chelsea’s quest to finish in the top four, killing the recent momentum they had built up.

It has predictably led to more talk surrounding Sarri’s future, with many of the opinion that he won’t be in charge next season.

A number of managers have been rumoured to be potential replacements for Sarri, should he be sacked.

Santo has now reportedly emerged as a front-runner, with his attacking style of play “seriously impressing the Chelsea hierarchy”.

A summer move is being mooted, rather than him coming in for Sarri at some point this season.

Wolves have enjoyed a superb campaign under Santo, sitting seventh in the Premier League, having been promoted from the Championship last season.
