With United pushing for an equalizer, Arsenal broke through against the run of play and were awarded a penalty when Fred slightly nudged Alexandre Lacazette inside the penalty box with the referee pointing to the spot.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stepped up to take the penalty and made amends for his miss in the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur to score.

Speaking in a post-match press conference, Solskjaer was not satisfied with the penalty decision, “I don’t think it is, but that’s the decision he made, I don’t think there’s enough contact to merit a pen. It’s not a dive, no, no, no. Fred is apparently very, very strong. The referee will be disappointed when he sees it as I don’t think it is a penalty.”
