Ethiopian Airlines plane crash: PS Koimmet to get more updates from Ethiopian authorities

Principal Secretary for transport Esther Koimmet and Kenyan ambassador to Ethiopia Catherine Mwangi are expected to meet Ethiopian aviation authorities   on Monday in order to get an update on what has so far been collected relating to the Sunday’s plane accident.

This follows the Sunday plane crash involving an Ethiopian airline. All 157 passengers on board lost their lives including 32 Kenyans.

Others included:  USA (8), Egypt (6), China (8), Ethiopia (9), Netherlands (5), UK (7), Russia (3), France (7), Italy (8).

The cause of the accident is yet to be established but Swedish flight-tracking website flightradar24 said it “had unstable vertical speed”.

Meanwhile, body parts recovered from the crash site near Boshfu town have been preserved at the Menelik Hospital in Addis Ababa, autopsies expected to start immediately.
