Muranga Senator Irungu Kang’ata has faulted a section of Jubilee leaders who have been blaming opposition leader Raila Odinga over the party’s woes lately.

The leaders mostly from Deputy President William Ruto’s faction have accused Raila of using his truce with president Uhuru Kenyatta to destroy the party.

Speaking on Sunday, the Senator said that the March 9 2018 reconciliation has actually been a blessing for the nation and has resulted to peace and stability in the nation.

“The handshake has been a blessing to the nation. Its the reason behind the peace and stability we are enjoying. Raila is not a villain but a hero,” he said.

The Senator was speaking on Radio Citizen’s Debe La Citizen Sunday evening.

Kang’ata instead heaped the blame on the other side, accusing them of politicizing everything in the nation including positive achievements.

“The problem are Ruto’s allies who are being too sensitive and condemning everything. They should not be politicizing everything, its breaking the party,” he added.

The group began bashing Raila since early last year but seems to have incorporated the president into the attacks over the last one week.

Led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, they have linked Uhuru to a plan allegedly aimed at isolating Ruto to scuttle his 2022 presidential bid.
