Manchester United can start celebrating even before Arsenal clash

Manchester United achieved this remarkable feat with 10 first team players injured or suspended fielding a lot of young and inexperienced players that graduated from the Manchester United academy.

Ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates stadium in London, interim manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided some good news for the fans of the club. He has disclosed that about three of four members of the first team have a chance of returning for the all important clash that would help decide the Top 4 race and Champions League qualification for next season.

Manchester United’s injury crisis has eased ahead of their crucial clash with Arsenal on Sunday, according to caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Manchester United saw off Paris Saint-Germain without 10 senior player to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Champions League on Wednesday night. But Solskjaer will welcome back Paul Pogba from suspension while Anthony Martial is set to return after five games out with a hamstring injury.

Midfielders Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic could also make comebacks at the Emirates for the match that sees two of the teams battling for a top four finish go head-to-head. “Anthony will be available,” Solskjaer, who has won 14 of his 17 games in charge, told a news conference on Friday. “Eric Bailly is fine. Hopefully Nemanja and or Ander will be available. They just need to have another couple of days training with the team. They’ve done well in their recovery work.”

Manchester United became the first team to progress in the Champions League after losing the first leg 2-0 at home. It sparked wild celebrations in the away dressing room at the Parc des Princes but Solskjaer said there will be no hangover against Arsenal.

Unai Emery’s side, who lost 3-1 to Rennes in the Europa League on Thursday night, are one point behind United in fifth with nine games to play. “There will be no problem whatsoever,” Solskjaer said. “We’ve gone through to the quarterfinals, which is what we expect from Man United. It was the way that it happened. The celebrations at the end are just what happens when you win like that. Arsenal is a fantastic game to get yourselves ready for.”

The Premier League game would kick off on Sunday giving Manchester United more time than Arsenal to prepare for the tie having has one more day to prepare. This might not necessarily be an advantage but Ole Gunnar is yet to fail to win a game away from home since his reign at United began
