Transport in Nairobi city is a menace to commuters and the government is making efforts to streamline the sector.
Embakasi East MP Hon. Babu Owino has proposed a bill to enforce constant transport cost for the city commuters.
Babu highlighted that people have been exploited by the matatu industry who fluctuate bus fares depending on the time and climate changes.
“Transport cost should be constant irrespective of the time of the day without considering off peak hours and changes in weather,” Babu stated.
The government plans to purchase used trains from Spain to boost city transport.
