“Referendum is currently untenable” DP Ruto

Politicians continue to express their divided opinions regarding referendum.

Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday has termed the idea to have changes in our constitution as untenable.

Talking at the 6th Devolution Conference closing ceremony in Kirinyaga county, Ruto  argued that we have witnessed massive development in the counties regardless of the population or size.

“The debate about size and mergers is an anti-devolution narrative and seeks to reverse the hard-earned gains of our reform endeavors,” stated DP Ruto.

Ruto further attributed counties success to innovation, creativity and visionary leadership and not the population size.
