Embattled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa continues to get support coming her way following a decision by Opposition Party ODM to expell her from the Party.

The latest group to join Aisha’s Support system is the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association which has faulted the expulsion of Jumwa.

KEWOPA Chairperson Wangui Ngirici has said that Aisha’s ties with DP Ruto should not be used to bring her down since the handshake between President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga was supposed to usher in a new era of political collaboration and tolerance that would see leaders from different sides of the political divide work together for the sake of national unity.

“The collaboration between the Deputy President and Aisha Jumwa was aimed at ensuring development is realised in Malindi, and was a replication of the unity that oneness between witnessed at the national level as a result of the March 9 handshake between Raila and President Uhuru.”

She added that expelling Aisha Jumwa from ODM was prejudicial and an infringement to her right to association.

“I would like to believe that the re-conciliatory bridge built by Raila and President Uhuru wasn’t just meant to help Raila crossover to Canaan alone, but to ensure all his members crossed over as well, Aisha Jumwa included,” she said.
