Painful sights again: Condemnation as Police unleash brutality on harmless KAA staff

JKIA strike

The ongoing strike at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) may have exposed the underbelly of the Government.

The use of teargas at the airport has drawn sharp criticism with a section of Kenyans calling out security agencies.

Police and General Service Unit (GSU) officers engaged the striking workers in running battles lobbing teargas canisters at the crowd.

The striking staff, who downed their tools in the early hours of Wednesday, are unhappy with the board of management, unfair staff hiring and compensation and proposed takeover of the airport by Kenya Airways.

The use of excessive force by police on harmless civilians has once again been criticized by Kenyans online. Here are some of their comments.
